3 kV threaded bushings are supplied complete with appropriate porcelain NBR gaskets, copper threaded rod, blue steel captive nuts, galvanized brass connectors, and stainless steel lock washers and nuts.

High voltage bushing is divided into oil-immersed bushing and capacitor bushing. The oil-filled bushing has a conductive rod or conduit in the center through which the conductor passes. Surrounding this conducting rod or conduit is a series of insulating spacers separated by spacers. The spacers and gaskets are encased in a skirted porcelain shell which is filled with oil. Capacitive bushings are similar, except that the central rod is wrapped with alternating layers of insulation and foil. In this way, the path from the conductor to the bushing consists of a series of capacitors. These layers of insulation are designed so that the voltage drop between each capacitor is approximately equal. In some capacitive bushings, the entire bushing is encased in a porcelain skirt. For other types of bushings, only the exposed portion of the bushing is encased in a porcelain shell.
