The transformer body is its active part. It is mainly composed of two parts: coil and iron core, supplemented by iron core clamp, insulation structure, lifting ring and so on. The transformer shall not be exposed. If the insulation performance of the exposed body is insufficient, the coil will discharge and break down to the ground (each metal structure) or between the coils. Therefore, the transformer body is placed in the oil tank, which is filled with transformer oil.
