Moisture Retainer (Type a) Din 42567.
The moisture retainer is used to remove moisture from the air entering the expansion tank when the transformer is in operation. This can prevent the formation of water vapor condensation in the expansion tank and improve the operational safety of the transformer.
Build
Moisture tanks (Type A, B, C) with a capacity of 0.5-1 kg. The upper and lower parts of the tank body are made of cast aluminum and treated by electrostatic powder spraying. The tank shaft is made of nickel-plated steel and the screen is made of zinc plate. The tank can be made of glass or polycarbonate according to customer's requirements. The oil cup is made of polycarbonate, and the oil cup bracket is made of chromium-nickel alloy.
How it works
When air enters the transformer, air flow occurs in the tank. The oil layer inside the tank prevents the desiccant from coming into constant contact with the moist outside air and purifies the incoming air. If the operating temperature of the transformer is reduced, the volume of the insulating oil is also reduced. During this process, air equal to the amount of fuel reduction is sucked into the tank through the air holes. This air then enters the expansion tank and comes into contact with the oil layer. During this process, the air comes into contact with the desiccant and leaves behind moisture. As the temperature of the oil in the transformer tank increases, the air inside will flow out in the opposite direction of the moisture retainer.
